GLO-JO® described as the human brake light: most who are reading this understand the hazards of driving a car at night. According to state law we are required to operate a vehicle with functional headlights and brake lights. Consider this…. would you drive your car without brake lights?
Putting things in perspective, imagine how catastrophic the consequences would be if while driving you could not see the person in front of you. The issues surrounding not being seen versus being seen during a critical incident can certainly be just as life changing and catastrophic. Company integrity being broken, disorientation, being unable to achieve egress, running out of air, getting caught in a collapse, flashover, and/or backdraft; are all possible consequences of how low visibility conditions can lead to complications that impede or prevent survival. The “absence of brake lights” on motor vehicles may seem like an extreme example …. but it is one we can all relate to. It is a very powerful example of how important an active illuminated signal is crucial to our safety. All emergency personnel operating in hazardous environments that are complicated with darkness, smoke, haze, or fog should be afforded the safety of being seen with an active illuminated signal. Their safety should not depend sole on reflectivity that is activated by a low power hand light; as commonly relied upon with the use of retro-reflective trim.
Illuminated Webbing Technology™
The GLO-JO® PRO™ and GLO-JO® P.A.L.™ are two products developed by CSC GROUP LLC coined as Illuminated Webbing Technology™ (IWT™). The primary objective of IWT™ is to address one primary mission, “to help emergency personnel and their equipment to be identified via an active illuminated signal.” The common use of nylon webbing and its practical applications within the Fire Service, EMS, & Law Enforcement has spawned a variety of IWT™ applications. Where-ever or how-ever webbing is used, and wherever one inch (1”) hook Velcro can be sewn, so can the adaptation of IWT™. The practical application of IWT™ is easily achieved through the use of hook and loop Velcro, as shown below:

GLO-JO® PRO™ & GLO-JO® P.A.L.™
Although the GLO-JO® PRO™ and GLO-JO® P.A.L.™ are both Illuminated Webbing Technologies™, each has their own method of generating illumination which are unique and different from each other. Both of these products are designed to generate a light frequency in a blue / green range. These color frequencies (blue, aqua blue, & green light) are purposefully used so as to optimize the peak sensitivity of the human eye, once the eye has transitioned into human night-vision (scotopic vision). Strategically manufacturing light that matches the peak sensitivity of the eye in human night-vision has been coined by CSC Group LLC as Optically Tuned Illumination©

GLO-JO® P.A.L.™ - Personnel Accountability Locator
The GLO-JO® P.A.L.™ is an Illuminated Webbing Technology™ that offers a multi-use / multi-purpose visual aid, utilizing a unique configuration of LED’s to help optimize ones ability to be seen. The LED’s used in this device are protected within a clear tubular housing (optic-luminent). This design allows the light generated by our LED’s to be dispersed within this tubular housing, thus creating a useful glow effect.
The LED illumination generated by the GLO-JO® P.A.L.™ can be extremely useful to all emergency responders, enabling visibility in situations where being seen is absolutely critical. Our product has useful benefits on the Fire-ground, during USAR missions, while on roadways, and during wild-land firefighting operations. Our product is designed to mount either directly to an object via our hook and loop attachment methods or can simply wrap around the radius of an object through our unique rubber strap design.
GLO-JO® PRO™ - Series Helmet Band
The GLO-JO® PRO™ is an Illuminated Webbing Technology™ that packages a unique combination of Conspicuity Technologies within one device to create a redundant system. More specifically, there are a sum of four (4) technologies optimized within our 1 inch tall by 16.5 inch long illumination strip; otherwise known as our “Conspicuity Strip”. The optimization of these four technologies enables those using it to enhance there ability of being seen beyond the advantages of what would be a common “passive conspicuity system”; as found with the frequent use of basic reflective striping. Instead, the GLO-JO® PRO™ utilizes passive, semi-active, and active conspicuity technologies; enabling each technology to be benefited from during various types of visibility challenged conditions. Because of our unique combination of conspicuity technologies, our product is able offer its users the benefits of a redundancy.
The four conspicuity technologies within the GLO-JO® PRO™ are:
I. Florescent Color: Considered a Passive Technology
The Florescent Lime / Yellow Colored strip, offer’s user’s visibility while in a lit condition or while operating in daylight.
II. Reflectivity: Considered a Passive Technology
The material within our strip also has Micro-prismatic Structures which enable it to reflect light when light is directed toward it. This is helpful in relatively clear atmospheric conditions, whereby light can easily reach the reflective material and reflect back.
III. Photoluminescence: Considered a Semi-Active Technology
This Semi- Active Illumination technology is other-wise known as “glow in the dark material”. It is found within the entirety of our strip and charges specifically when exposed to Ultra-Violet (UV) Light. After a full UV charge; which is achieved in a relatively short period of time, this material can generate active illumination in the form of an “after glow” for up to two (2) hours.
IV. Electroluminescence: Considered an Active Technology
This Active Illumination technology is packaged within our strip in the form of our own custom manufactured Electroluminescent (EL) Lamp. This Electroluminescent Lamp provides Active Illumination via an electrical current generated from a battery source or two (2) AA batteries. Our Electroluminescent Lamp is engineered to generate a light wave which is tuned to operate within a frequency range that compliments the peak sensitivity of the human eye in various levels of low light.
